Leeds Sign Defender Ayling

Leeds United have signed defender Luke Ayling from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee.

The former Yeovil Town defender is Garry Monk’s fifth summer signing and despite only being 24 brings a wealth of experience after making 162 League appearances for the Glovers and 80 for Bristol City after starting his career at Arsenal but failing to make a single senior appearance.

A key player for Bristol City last season after helping them avoid the drop (making 33 appearances), Ayling, can fit straight into the right back position after signing a three-year contract at Elland Road.

In other news, Leeds winger Jordan Botaka has joined Charlton Athletic on a season long loan. The Republic of Congo International joined the Whites at the start of last season from Dutch Side Excelsior but failed to make an impression in his 14 appearances and has been allowed to gain more experience of English Football at The Valley.
