A Week in the Life of a Leeds Fan

By Ian Waterhouse

A cheeky look back at the last seven days through the eyes of a Leeds fan.

Monday 8th August

I peak at the back pages of The Sun newspaper hoping that yesterday’s defeat to QPR was nothing but a bad dream. Unfortunately it turns out dreams do come true, even bad ones as Leeds really are bottom after a 3-0 hammering at the hands of an average QPR side. I put some D:ream on to try and cheer me up as surely ‘Things can only get better’.

Tuesday 9th August

Nothing much really happening today, going to watch my re-run of the Manchester United v Leeds FA Cup game. Always cheers me up watching back Jermaine Beckford’s tap roll agonisingly slowly into the back of the Old Trafford net! Good times.

Wednesday 10th August

THE ROOFE THE ROOFE THE ROOFE IS ON FIRE. It might have had to go to penalties but who cares a win is a win right? Get the open top bus parade organised coz we are going to win everything. See ya Fleetwood! (probably next season in league One).

Thursday 11th August

Today I find out we have signed defender Luke Ayling from Bristol City. This is a great signing as Ayling has spent most of his career at bottom half of the table teams like Yeovil and Bristol City. He should fit right in at Leeds.

Friday 12th August

First home game of the season tomorrow against Birmingham City, should be an easy three points although for who I couldn’t say.

Saturday 13th August

The high I felt after scraping through against Fleetwood mid-week is quickly dashed as we lose back to back league games. However, there is good news as we have moved up the table! We are now up to the dizzying heights of 23rd! Marching on Together!!

Sunday 14th August

Not the best week I have ever had but another home game on Tuesday against Fulham so I put my D:ream back on and convince myself once again that ‘Things can only get better’.

Roll on next week.
